Job summary

Charles Schwab's Investment Research Technology team seeks a hands-on Software Engineer to contribute code, shape technical direction, and mentor others while modernizing research capabilities across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will build full-stack capabilities for investment research, design cloud-ready microservices, strengthen CI/CD practices, and apply secure-by-design coding with governance considerations, including Generative AI integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, or engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
• 7+ years building production-grade Java Spring Boot and Python applications.
• Experience with cloud-ready, event-driven microservices and APIs.
• Strong SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Bigtable) expertise.
• Experience with CI/CD and container delivery (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Secure coding practices and code quality tools (SonarQube, CodeQL, Veracode).

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack capabilities for investment research initiatives.
• Design cloud-ready microservices with scalable integration patterns.
• Improve CI/CD workflows and DevOps practices.
• Mentor engineers and lead in an Agile environment.
• Incorporate Generative AI capabilities following governance.
