Job summary

Schwab Technology Services is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to lead full‑stack development for investment research platforms. You will build cloud‑ready microservices, drive CI/CD improvements, and mentor teammates in an Agile/DevOps environment.

You’ll collaborate with product, architecture, and research stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions in on‑premises and cloud setups, helping traders and clients rely on robust research tooling daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience developing production‑grade applications using Java (Spring Boot) and Python.
• Proven ability to build cloud‑ready, event‑driven microservices and APIs at scale using Kafka, RabbitMQ, RESTful services.
• Experience designing and building hybrid on‑premises and cloud integrations.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL technologies and when to apply each.
• Ability to work with financial datasets and data engineering workflows.
• Experience building data visualizations or dashboards using Python‑based tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-stack software development for investment research initiatives, contributing hands-on to design, development, testing, and support.
• Translate business needs into technical approaches by partnering with product, researchers, and engineers.
• Design cloud-ready, event-driven services to improve scalability and reliability across the platform.
• Improve CI/CD workflows and DevOps practices to accelerate quality and production readiness.
• Mentor engineers and promote inclusive collaboration while growing team capabilities.
• Communicate priorities and progress to technical and business partners.
