Job summary

UBC is seeking a Sr Software Development Engineer (ISE01I) to lead architecture, design, and hands-on development of complex software systems in a remote US-based role. The engineer will mentor teammates, guide technology direction, and ensure delivery quality across an application family.

The ideal candidate has 12–15 years of experience, strong .NET expertise (Unified Platform V8 and .NET Framework 4.8), and a track record in workflow orchestration within microservice architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 12–15 years of relevant experience; 3–5 years at senior/principal level.
• Extensive coding experience with .NET Unified Platform V8 and .NET Framework 4.8.
• Experience with workflow orchestration in microservice architectures; Camunda Cloud preferred.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in healthcare or PBM industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop sophisticated software systems with up to 100% coding.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Lead delivery across an application family and ensure alignment with strategic initiatives.
• Lead incident response and long-term solutions for production issues.
• Collaborate with architects to influence technology decisions within enterprise architecture.
• Establish best practices, reusable components, and guidelines for technology usage.
• Drive vendor collaboration for estimates, plans, and timelines.
• Manage multiple priorities and ensure project deadlines are met.
