Ad Hoc LLC seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead front-end and back-end work for Library of Congress initiatives in a fully remote capacity. You will drive scalable software while collaborating with agile teams across government-focused programs and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level knowledge with Spring Boot 4 framework.
• Strong working knowledge of containerized microservices and AWS services (ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs with OpenAPI specifications.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines in GitLab and Git.
• Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication with federal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates expertise and ownership of contributions to the code base.
• Maintains understanding of adjacent systems for effective integration.
• Diagnoses and resolves issues, using incidents to drive improvements.
• Mentors more junior engineers and participates in technical interviews.
• Presents design documents and diagrams to clients and engineers.
