Job summary

Penn Veterinary Supply is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain our B2B eCommerce website. You will work remotely, hybrid, or onsite from a home office with Penn Vet-provided equipment and play a key role in achieving digital and eCommerce goals.

Lead front-end and back-end development, design scalable applications, and ensure secure, high-performance systems. Collaboration across teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java (8 and 21+), Java EE, REST APIs.
• Experience with front-end tech: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Proficient with SQL databases (DB2, PostgreSQL).
• Unit testing with JUnit; Git for source control; Maven build/dependency management.
• Experience on Linux server administration and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with stakeholders and teams to translate requirements into deliverables.
• Designs scalable, responsive web applications with front-end and back-end focus.
• Writes well-structured, efficient code with maintainability in mind.
• Develops databases, APIs and server-side features for data flow and functionality.
