Job summary

CrowdStrike in Austin is seeking a Senior Engineer for the LogScale Search team to deliver scale for automated detection and response. You will develop features and improve existing functionality in a distributed backend, collaborating with a global team.

This role emphasizes high availability, automation, testing, and documentation, with hybrid on-site 2-3 days per week. You will become a go-to expert on LogScale architecture and contribute to scalable, secure data processing for our customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in software development and balancing short-term vs long-term product goals.
• Broad technical leadership across products or services.
• Fluency in functional and object oriented programming; ability to pick up new languages quickly.
• Strong teamwork, responsibility, and ability to collaborate across regions.

Responsibilities

• Develop the LogScale backend in Scala and extend product to handle increasing ingest and query load with high availability.
• Lead by example on customer and product focus; monitor features released to customers and troubleshoot issues.
• Deliver cross-team platform initiatives by scoping, designing and developing new features for open-ended problems.
• Collaborate across teams on design docs, technical talks, and internal documentation improvements.
• Write automated tests and participate in manual testing; ensure features are scalable and observable in production.
• Communicate effectively with teams across the globe as a remote-first company.
