Job summary

Skylight Health seeks an experienced software engineer to own core development on our referral platform, building scalable workflow orchestration and agent coordination. You’ll work closely with the CTO and a small team to delivery multi-step referral capabilities and robust backend/frontend systems.

You will collaborate with product, data, and clinical teams to translate clinical requirements into reliable, scalable software, while maintaining a high bar for quality, security, and performance

Qualifications

• 5 years of software development in production environments.
• Experience with agentic or AI systems in production.
• JavaScript/TypeScript mastery across backend (Node.js) and frontend (React or similar).
• SQL and data engineering competency, including ETL and data processing pipelines.
• Nice-to-have: HIPAA-compliant environment experience or healthcare data knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain healthcare referral workflow definitions and agent coordination logic within the platform.
• Build backend APIs (Node.js, REST/GraphQL) and frontend components to create seamless user experiences.
• Integrate CMS healthcare claims data and build data pipelines to inform workflow decisions.
• Troubleshoot workflow failures and optimize data retrieval for reliability and scale.
• Collaborate with data science, product, and clinical teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
