Job description

The Sr. Software Engineer is responsible for independently developing and consistently redesigning / refactoring a product to adapt to our customers and associates needs. As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team with engineers of all experience levels who help each other build and grow technical and leadership skills while creating, deploying, and supporting production applications. In addition, Sr. Software Engineers may be involved in product and tool selection, configuration, security, resilience, performance tuning and production monitoring as well as mentoring less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Delivery and Execution (50%): Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software with a clear understanding of its value; take on new opportunities and challenges with urgency and enthusiasm; develop test suites to enable success; approach issues broadly and globally.
2. Learns and Grows (20%): Learn from experiments, seek growth opportunities through formal and informal channels.
3. Plans and Aligns (20%): Collaborate within agile teams; ensure user stories are valuable and testable; communicate effectively; adapt to changing situations; relate well with diverse groups.
4. Supports and Enables (10%): Mentor junior engineers; lead technical discussions.

Reporting Structure :

• Typically reports to Software Engineer Manager or Sr. Manager
• Has no direct reports

Travel Requirements :

No travel required.

Physical and Working Conditions :

• Mostly sitting with opportunities to move; infrequent light lifting; comfortable indoor environment.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the US.

Preferred Qualifications :

• 2-4 years relevant experience; familiarity with front-end tech (HTML, CSS, JS/TS), object-oriented languages (preferably Java), databases, cloud, CI/CD, design patterns; experience with security frameworks, testing, debugging, version control.

Education :

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; no additional education required.

Experience :

• No additional years of experience beyond the minimum.

Leadership :

• No leadership experience required or preferred.
