Civica is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join product teams that modernise legacy systems and build new capabilities from scratch. You’ll work across public sector–oriented domains, translating complex problems into robust, scalable software and owning meaningful pieces end-to-end.

The role emphasizes systems thinking, production readiness, and the use of modern tooling, including AI-assisted development, with a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Translate ambiguous business problems into production-grade software.
• Experience designing systems that scale and last over time.
• Ability to ship software end-to-end from spec to operability.

Responsabilités

• Decompose ambiguous problems into clear system designs and make architectural decisions.
• Design, build, and ship production-ready software across the full lifecycle.
• Work across legacy and greenfield environments within the same product.
• Own technical decisions for complex components and articulate trade-offs.
• Define quality benchmarks for testing, observability, and documentation.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineers to understand the problem before building.
