Job summary

OpenGov is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design and deliver top-tier SaaS solutions that enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in government agencies.

You will lead features in a fast-paced, agile environment using ReactJS, TypeScript, GraphQL, and NodeJS, driving quality and customer impact. Based in Boston, MA, you will mentor peers, collaborate across teams, and push the adoption of AI-driven UX and modern development practices while staying focused on delivering

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building scalable cloud-native apps with ReactJS, TS, GraphQL, and NodeJS.
• Experience on Azure or AWS with modern CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Grafana for observability and performance monitoring.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, ReactJS, and NodeJS fundamentals.
• Proficiency with event-driven architecture and GraphQL.
• Experience shipping features end-to-end in a fast-paced environment.
• BA/BS in a CS-related field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across the organization to translate business priorities into shipped features.
• Generate clean, efficient, and well-documented software.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance for scalable SaaS apps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex technical issues.
• Mentor and guide junior software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Contribute to OpenGov’s Engineering culture of innovation, leading-edge technology adoption and quality.
• Cultivate customer empathy to ensure that the solutions exceed customer expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and operational excellence.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
