Job summary

TechShack is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Post Trade engineering team in Chicago. You will work on systems that support the full post-trade lifecycle across a global trading business, owning architecture and technical direction.

You should bring 5+ years of software development with Python or C++, strong Linux skills, and experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL. Exposure to FIX/electronic trading systems is highly desirable.

I’m working with a leading global proprietary trading firm looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer into its Post Trade engineering team in Chicago.

This is a high-impact role building and scaling the systems that sit behind a global trading operation, working across complex distributed systems with varying latency, reliability and data requirements.

What they’re looking for:

• 5+ years’ professional experience with Python OR C++
• Strong Linux knowledge, including performance tuning and networking
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Exposure to FIX / electronic trading systems is highly desirable
• Strong CS fundamentals and a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline
