Job summary

Old Mission is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build reliable systems at scale for post-trade operations. You will coordinate across inputs, outputs, and latency requirements, bringing proven Python and C++ expertise to a distributed system supporting global trading from Chicago.

You will work with Linux, relational databases, and FIX, contributing to a fast-paced, collaborative team with strong problem-solving skills. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related Engineering/Science discipline.
• 5+ years of professional Python and C++ experience in a production setting.
• Strong Linux knowledge including performance tuning and networking.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
• Experience with FIX (execution management, market data, drop copy).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative team player who owns and drives projects.

About The Position

We are actively hiring a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for building reliable systems at scale. As a post-trade developer, you will coordinate solutions across a wide range of inputs, outputs, and latency requirements. You will bring proven expertise in Python and C++ to a distributed system that supports global trading across the entire firm.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related Engineering/Science discipline
• A minimum of 5 years of professional Python and C++ experience in a production setting
• Strong Linux knowledge (e.g. performance tuning, networking)
• Comfortable working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL,MySQL, etc.)
• FIX experience (e.g. execution management, market data, drop copy)
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative team player with a knack for owning and driving exciting projects
• Thrives in a fast-paced work environment, showcasing effective problem-solving abilities

Base Salary Range

$200,000 - $250,000 - Salaries are based on numerous factors such as skills, experience, and education. Our compensation package also includes a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits program for full-time employees.
