Job summary

TechShack is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Post Trade engineering team in Chicago. You will work on systems that support the full post-trade lifecycle across a global trading business, owning architecture and technical direction.

You should bring 5+ years of software development with Python or C++, strong Linux skills, and experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL. Exposure to FIX/electronic trading systems is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python or C++.
• Strong Linux knowledge, including performance tuning and networking.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Exposure to FIX / electronic trading systems is highly desirable.
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale systems that support the full post-trade lifecycle for a global trading operation.
• Own architecture and technical direction within the post-trade engineering team.
• Collaborate across distributed systems to meet latency, reliability and data requirements.
