Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operations.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and/or Java, with production code experience.
• Cloud-native experience with AWS and Terraform, S3, EC2, EMR.
• Experience leading AI-assisted tooling with validation for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI in engineering workflows and data security.
• Proficiency across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced knowledge of agile practices such as CI/CD, resiliency, and security.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services IT landscape, domain concepts.
• Preferred: Spark and Databricks for distributed data processing.
• Preferred: data engineering and platform development skills.
• Preferred: relational databases like Oracle; cloud data platforms; performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions with innovative approaches.
• Build secure, high-quality production code and review peers' code.
• Drive adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices with validation.
• Apply SDLC tools and automation capabilities to increase value delivered.
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring fixes to improve stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams for architecture fit.
• Work within an agile front-office tech team to support investment processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop functional specifications supporting business objectives.
