A leading global retailer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Platform Engineering team. This team builds shared software, services, and developer tools that help engineering teams deliver reliable, scalable applications.

Unlike traditional product engineering teams, Platform Engineering works horizontally across the organization, improving the tools, infrastructure, and workflows used by engineers across multiple applications and business domains.

This is an opportunity for a senior engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving developer productivity, and taking ownership of initiatives from initial investigation through implementation and rollout.

What You'll Do

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience developing and troubleshooting backend services and APIs.
• Demonstrated ability to independently take a broad engineering problem through investigation, solution design, implementation, testing, and rollout.
• Ability to clarify requirements, evaluate technical approaches, and communicate trade-offs and recommendations.
• Experience collaborating with other engineers and incorporating technical feedback throughout delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a technical lead, lead engineer, or senior engineer with initiative-level ownership.
• Experience working on platform engineering teams or building shared libraries, developer tools, and internal frameworks.
• Experience writing technical and architectural design documents and presenting solutions to senior engineers.
• Experience coordinating technical migrations or implementing changes across multiple engineering teams.
• Experience working with monorepos and tooling such as Nx and pnpm.
• Familiarity with testing and monitoring tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Sentry, and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud, and technologies such as Vercel and Akamai.
• Experience supporting high-traffic eCommerce applications.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
