Airbnb is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Payments Risk Engineering team. You will design and build a wide range of scalable risk services and infrastructure to detect and mitigate fraud while supporting the company’s global payments platform.

You will work closely with product, data science, and operations to respond to evolving risk scenarios. A typical day includes building a modular tech stack, collaborating with data scientists and PMs to derive product insights, and integrating

Qualifications

5+ years in Payments/Fintech as a backend software engineer.
Proficient in Java/Kotlin/Python; React experience a plus.
Exposure to large-scale web app architectures, APIs, data pipelines.

Responsabilités

Build and maintain a service-oriented, scalable risk platform with well-defined APIs.
Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and other XFN partners to deliver features and mitigate fraud.
Integrate with third-party vendors and payments networks to empower in-house risk systems.
Iterate on risk detection, mitigation, and resolution strategies as requirements evolve.
Enhance monitoring and observability of risk systems to improve reliability.
Work with cross-functional teams to advance engineering processes and foundations.
