Job summary

CLEAR is building the secure identity platform of the future. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will establish our Observability framework across key flows, drive load testing, and lead game days and chaos experiments to ensure scalable, reliable systems.

You will influence design decisions with a product and user-centric mindset. You will work with Datadog and modern tracing tools, own complex cross-functional projects, and mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• 6+ years writing production-grade software in a modern language (Java/Python).
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems concepts (CAP) and microservices.
• Experience with modern observability systems such as Datadog.
• Experience with performance debugging tools and flame graphs.
• Product- and user-centric mindset with focus on reliability.

Responsibilities

• Embed within the Engineering pillar to implement observability across key flows.
• Facilitate and build load testing to understand limits and scaling factors of services.
• Contribute to observability and support design of new services for reliability.
• Build and lead game days, chaos engineering, and failure analysis.
• Develop long-term capacity plans prioritizing reliability and cost-efficiency.
