CLEAR is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own high-impact, cross-functional products across the enterprise identity platform. You will shape architecture, drive reliability, and mentor engineers while partnering with Product, Design, Data, Security, and Operations.

You will lead end-to-end delivery from discovery through rollout, focusing on scalable, secure, and maintainable systems that support frictionless experiences for millions of users. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience building production applications.
• Strong fundamentals across distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern architectures.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native apps using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Historically owned complex cross-functional projects from idea to production with bias for action.
• Excellent communication to influence stakeholders and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable applications powering CLEAR's identity platform.
• Own projects end to end from discovery to rollout, adoption, and operational support.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, Security, and Operations to translate problems into scalable technical solutions.
• Incorporate robust test strategies, observability, alerts, safe rollouts, and health monitoring.
• Lead engineering direction, reduce technical debt, and improve platform security and maintainability.
• Mentor teammates and drive improvements in engineering practices.
