Job summary

KCU is seeking a Software Engineer to partner with university constituents, conduct thorough research on database applications, and ensure optimal server-side functionality for database systems.

You will lead design discussions, own features end-to-end from design to deployment, work in Agile environments, and ensure robust security, performance, and scalability across services.

The role emphasizes collaboration, problem solving, and delivering reliable software in a fast-paced campus setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience focused on .NET stack.
• Advanced proficiency with C#, .NET Core/Framework, and Visual Studio.
• Deep experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SSMS.
• Strong frontend experience with modern web apps (React) and HTML/CSS.
• RESTful API design, documentation, and versioning.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software systems and services.
• Modify existing software to fix errors and improve performance.
• Analyze user needs and translate into scalable software solutions.
• Collaborate with customers and teams on system design and maintenance.
• Coordinate software installation and ensure hardware compatibility.
• Lead end-to-end feature ownership from design through deployment and support.
• Develop testing/validation procedures, and ensure security best practices.
• Model data and architecture, including relational databases and data pipelines.
• Integrate enterprise systems with SaaS like Workday via APIs.
