Ladders is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Native Editor Platform to evolve a cross-platform desktop authoring environment used by developers across Windows, macOS, and Linux. You will work with seasoned engineers to improve core platform capabilities, support OS features, and shape the roadmap for new authoring experiences.

This role blends low-level systems work with platform abstractions and cross-team collaboration to enhance reliability and maintainability.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Native Editor Platform to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on evolving a cross-platform desktop authoring environment used by developers and creators across Windows, macOS, and Linux. You will work closely with experienced engineers to improve core platform capabilities, support new operating system features, and help shape the roadmap for new authoring experiences. The position combines low-level systems work, platform abstractions, and collaboration across teams to improve reliability, usability, and long-term maintainability.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $115,400 – $219,700 annually

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced engineers on platform development
• Develop cross-platform API abstractions for Windows, macOS, and Linux
• Implement support for new operating system features and adapt to design guidelines
• Maintain and improve the existing codebase to support users
