Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Mission Systems Engineering Team in the DFW area. You will apply systems thinking to real-time software development across hardware and software interfaces, contributing to system-of-systems architecture and PDR/CDR readiness.

The role requires a strong background in C++, embedded real-time software, Linux or VxWorks, and collaboration across Systems, Software, Firmware, and Hardware teams. U.S. citizenship is required for this role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering with 5+ years of engineering experience.
Experience with system-of-systems architecture and subsystem interface design.
Experience developing, testing, and integrating real-time software in C++ and RTOS environments.
Experience using engineering tools such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect and MS Visio.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

Apply systems thinking to CONOPS development, V-model alignment, specification tree analysis, and system decomposition.
Perform high-level design at the System-of-Systems level and design interfaces for hardware and software.
Develop Software Requirements Specifications (SRS).
Collaborate with Systems Architects, Technical Leads, and multi-disciplinary teams on design exploration and problem solving.
Architect, implement, test, and debug embedded real-time software across heterogeneous hardware and software systems.
Participate in design reviews (PDR and CDR).
Mentor junior engineers.
Occasional business travel up to 5%.
