Job summary

Lightning AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement microservices-based architecture for its core platform services. This role allows occasional telecommuting within commuting distance of the San Francisco reporting office.

You will build and maintain RESTful APIs, develop automation tools for infrastructure provisioning, and contribute to architectural decisions while mentoring junior engineers and promoting best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Software or Computer Engineering, CS or related field.
5+ years of backend/distributed systems experience.
Experience with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
Kubernetes and microservices architecture experience.
Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

Design and implement microservices-based architecture for core platform services.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
Develop tooling for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
Review architecture decisions and mentor engineers.
Participate in sprint planning and technical design sessions.
