Blue Origin is looking for a skilled software engineer to join a team developing manufacturing automation and enterprise systems. You will help build real-time analysis and decision-making platforms, supporting operations across the company.

The role emphasizes distributed, highly available systems using AWS and GenAI platforms. You will apply technical leadership and quality focus to advance safe human spaceflight and contribute to innovative software and hardware solutions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns.
• Proficiency in Java or Python, with experience in modern backend frameworks.
• Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, FastAPI, Django, Express.js.
• Frontend experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript and modern tooling.
• Experience designing and maintaining APIs and production applications.
• Experience with servers, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Strong SQL experience; NoSQL a plus.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Version control with Git; code review practices.
• Experience with automated testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to improve productivity.
• Ability to own features and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop new tools and applications for manufacturing automation and enterprise systems.
• Design, implement, and deploy enterprise-scale systems and services for operations.
• Create quality user documentation for enterprise integrations.
• Adopt software DevOps approaches to automation problems.
• Identify feature gaps in enterprise systems and develop remediation plans.
• Share knowledge on performance, scalability, and engineering best practices.
