Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Massachusetts to design and implement advanced features and systems. You will translate requirements into execution plans, write reliable production code, and help shape strategic initiatives.

You will mentor engineers, drive quality through testing, and collaborate across product, design, PM, and other teams to align on goals and outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS, software engineering, or equivalent.
Typically 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Led end-to-end outcomes for significant features or systems.
Collaborated with product, project management, design and other partners.
Proficient in at least one modern programming language and ecosystem.
Strong communication with stakeholders and mentoring ability.
Experience with developer tools, CI/CD, automation, and AI tools.

Responsibilities

Design technical solutions for complex features, services, or systems.
Translate product and business requirements into technical problem statements and execution plans.
Implement and review code for complex features and cross-cutting changes.
Shape and lead planning for significant features or initiatives.
Drive quality practices by defining testing strategies.
Diagnose and resolve production and non-production issues.
Improve and extend Engineering tooling, automation, and workflows.
Mentor and coach other Engineers.
Influence cross-team decisions and alignment.
Contribute to team and engineering culture.
