Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior engineering leader to guide a team of individual contributors across new product design, development, and updates. You will manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and budgets, aligning resources with goals and timelines.

You will communicate status to managers and partners, oversee outsourced relationships, and drive process improvements and cost reductions. You’ll mentor staff, set performance plans, and foster career development across geographies.

Qualifications

• First level university degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years related work experience with 0-2 years people management.
• Strong leadership, coaching and conflict resolution skills.
• Understanding of Java and networking.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and developing new products, enhancements and updates.
• Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met.
• Communicates project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.
• Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.
• Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.
• Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development.
