Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and improve large-scale distributed systems on top of AWS services. You will work on billing-related platforms that process trillions of usage records with a focus on accuracy and cost control.

You will mentor teammates, participate in code reviews, and drive design decisions within a Scrum team to deliver robust software for millions of customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with Java or at least one object-oriented language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of large-scale systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design high-quality, efficient, and testable code in Java and other OO languages.
• Build large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
• Develop anomaly detection algorithms to improve billing accuracy.
• Collaborate with AWS teams to support billing needs.
• Own and operate the systems you build with a focus on data quality and reliability.
• Participate in planning, design, implementation, testing, and operations within a Scrum team.
• Partner with product managers and engineers to deliver features and promote best practices.
