Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Software Development Engineer II for the Billing Data Services team.

You will design, build, and operate foundational systems that capture, store, and serve authoritative billing facts used across AWS billing services. You will work on large-scale distributed systems, ensuring data quality, correctness, and operational excellence while collaborating with product managers and engineers across Commerce Platform teams to deliver reliable

Qualifications

5+ years leading design/architecture of large-scale systems
Mentor or tech lead experience in engineering teams
5+ years of professional software development
6+ years of programming in at least one language

Responsibilities

Design high-quality, efficient, and testable code in Java and other OO languages.
Build large-scale, highly available distributed systems for ingesting, storing, and serving authoritative billing data.
Design storage and serving paths meeting freshness, accuracy, and latency requirements.
Partner with downstream teams on schema and data contract changes, ensuring backward compatibility.
Own and operate the systems you build with a strong focus on data quality and reliability.
Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, and operations as a Scrum team member.
Collaborate with product managers and engineers across Commerce Platform teams to deliver features and drive best practices.
