Job summary

Zapata Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support software engineering activities at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). The role emphasizes functional and empirical analysis in design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of software systems.

The position requires strong engineering skills and the ability to address complex customer requirements in a demanding environment. This is a full-time, onsite role at APG with a TS/SCI clearance requirement.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience performing functional and empirical analysis related to software system design, development, and implementation.
• Experience with application, utility, development, and/or diagnostic software.
• Experience developing or supporting test strategies and system-level testing activities.
• Ability to independently solve complex engineering and software problems.
• Ability to work effectively in an onsite technical/customer environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional and empirical analysis for design, development, and implementation of software systems.
• Support a range of software solutions including application, utility, development, and diagnostic software.
• Help develop software and system test strategies and test devices.
• Support development and implementation of test devices and systems.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve complex software and engineering problems.
• Address engineering problems within the assigned functional area.
• Support software engineering activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
