Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Herndon, VA seeks a Senior Software Engineer to develop and test software for SMS/AGM platforms. You will design, implement, and maintain Java or C# services, containerize them with Docker, and deploy on OpenShift, building reliable, scalable components.

You will work across the full SDLC, define performance metrics, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and continuously improve systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS/Engineering and 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or C# with strong API knowledge (REST/gRPC).
• Fluency with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift for containerized apps.
• Experience with relational databases and ORM (JDBC, EF Core, Dapper).
• Strong OO design, MVC concepts, and microservices experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Java or C# services for SMS/AGM platforms.
• Containerize services with Docker and deploy to OpenShift/ Argo CD workflows.
• Lead technical design for large or complex components and ensure quality.
• Monitor performance with observability; define SLOs, dashboards, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable solutions.
