Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated invites a Senior Software Engineer to develop and test software for the Sensor Management System (SMS) and related platforms. You will design, implement, and maintain services in Java or C#, containerize with Docker, and deploy on OpenShift, contributing to a robust grid monitoring ecosystem.

You will drive API engineering (REST/gRPC), ORM usage, and microservice architecture while collaborating with QA and documentation teams to ensure high reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field with 5+ years of software development.
• Proficiency in Java or C# ecosystems and modern tooling.
• Fluency with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift for packaging, deploying, and scaling services.
• Experience with REST and/or gRPC, SQL/NoSQL databases and ORM.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a team to deliver high quality software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements for feasibility and strategy.
• Design, build, and maintain Java or C# code.
• Containerize services (Docker) and deploy to OpenShift; manage Helm/Kustomize manifests and Argo CD.
• Perform all SDLC activities: design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Instrument services with telemetry, define SLOs, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve performance and reliability.
• Lead technical design and development of large or complex components.
