Job summary

JPMorganChase in New York seeks a seasoned Software Engineer III to join an agile team. You will design and deliver secure, scalable technology products, building Java microservices and RESTful APIs with Spring Boot and J2EE/JAX-RS.

You will leverage AI-assisted tooling and work across the SDLC to enhance code quality and system reliability. You will gather data, monitor architectures, and contribute to continuous improvement while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with demonstrated ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
• Knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies such as CI/CD, resiliency, and security.
• Experience building Java microservices/APIs and RESTful services using Spring Boot; J2EE/JAX-RS for secure enterprise REST apps.
• Experience building distributed systems with CQRS pattern.
• Experience processing big data with Spark and real-time events with Kafka; API contracts with Swagger and AVRO; JSON/XML data exchange.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting beyond routine approaches.
• Produces secure, high-quality production code and maintenance of algorithms.
• Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve quality, speed, and productivity with peer review and automated testing.
• Uses SDLC tools including enterprise AI-assisted development and automation to improve value.
• Delivers architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensures design constraints are met.
• Gathers and analyzes large data sets to visualize and report for software improvement.
• Identifies hidden data patterns to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
