Job summary

JPMorganChase in Jersey City is seeking a Software Engineer III to advance on an agile team, delivering secure, scalable enterprise applications for Internal Audit. You will design cloud-native microservices in Java and Python, build rich React frontends, and own CI/CD pipelines to support frequent releases.

Collaborating with business stakeholders, you will implement robust testing, security and resiliency practices, and contribute to AI-assisted development efforts while improving code quality

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Experience building distributed applications using Java 8+ with Spring Boot/Spring and RESTful microservices.
• Experience developing and maintaining services or automation in Python in a large enterprise environment.
• Working knowledge of modern frontend development with React and JavaScript/TypeScript, including API integration patterns.
• Experience building and operating software using CI/CD practices (automated builds, tests, quality checks, packaging, deployment, and environment promotion).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS and/or Kubernetes) and deploying to cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Solid understanding of application resiliency, production readiness, security and monitoring practices.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and evaluating AI outputs for correctness and security.
• Understanding of secure software development practices and secrets management.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and CI/CD, Application Resiliency, Security.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications for Internal Audit with stakeholders.
• Develop cloud-native microservices (Java and Python), defining REST APIs and integrating with services.
• Build and enhance rich client experiences using React and modern web practices.
• Deploy services to container-based runtimes and support releases to cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Create proofs of concepts with new frameworks, identify best practices, and adapt to evolving requirements.
• Perform design reviews and peer code reviews; promote code quality and security standards.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated release processes across environments.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement for configuration, deployment, and readiness.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools, validate outputs via peer review and testing; contribute reusable patterns.
