Job summary

Subsplash is seeking a Software Development Engineer III to help build and maintain scalable web services and tools for clients worldwide. You will work with designers, PMs and engineers to deliver secure, stable, and elegant solutions.

The role emphasizes architecture, mentorship, and security culture, with a strong focus on uptime and performance. This is a full‑time, remote position available to many US states listed in our policy.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-time programming in a team environment.
• Experience making architectural decisions for new and existing systems.
• Significant server-side web tech experience (Unix/Linux, Golang, PHP, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Strong networking and network security knowledge.
• Ability to address security risks (XSS, SQLi, SSL, session hijacking).
• Hands-on with AWS or similar hosting providers.
• Ability to write technical docs and proposals.
• Collaborative mindset; mentorship and constructive feedback.
• Navigate ambiguous requirements and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Mentor others and communicate complex tech clearly; participate in on-call rotation.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers, PMs and engineers to build reliable systems.
• Ensure stability and uptime for web services and financial software.
• Review teammates’ work and provide constructive feedback.
• Coach others on security best practices and design decisions.
• Contribute to on-call rotations and incident response.
