Job summary

Subsplash is seeking a Software Development Engineer III (backend + AI) to join our Product and Engineering Team. You will work with Designers, PMs and other Engineers to build scalable, secure backend services, with a focus on stability and performance for web-based platforms.

You will mentor others, contribute to security practices, and help shape architectural decisions across projects. Remote work is available for qualified states, with strong compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full time programming experience in a group/team environment.
• Experience making architectural decisions for expanding projects and implementing new systems.
• Significant experience with server-side web technologies (Unix/Linux, Golang, PHP, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Networking and network security proficiency; experience protecting against common web risks.
• Experience with AWS or similar hosting providers; ability to write technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Designers, Project Managers and Engineers to build scalable, secure backend systems.
• Review teammates' work and coach others on best practices and architectural decisions.
• Contribute to on-call rotation and maintain uptime for critical services.
• Translate complex technical requirements into clear designs and proposals.
• Mentor teammates and influence design decisions across teams.
