Job summary

Rocket Lab in Littleton, CO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join the Digital Engineering team. You will help develop next-generation simulation and modeling tools for aerospace systems, including flight and ground software capabilities.

The role involves designing scalable architectures, intuitive UIs, and robust software across Windows and Linux, using .NET and Angular. You’ll collaborate across teams and participate in design reviews to drive high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of software development experience focused on simulation, modeling, or aerospace systems.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET and Angular (or React/Vue).
• Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, SQLite).
• U.S. citizenship required due to program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain simulation and modeling tools for aerospace systems (flight/ground software).
• Develop mission-level wargaming tools across space, air, and ground domains.
• Create products for analyzing laser communication constellation networks.
• Develop cross-platform application software using web technologies (Windows, Linux).
• Apply UI/UX best practices for intuitive simulation/configuration tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architectures and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR) and refine requirements and specs.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
