Job summary

Verisk Analytics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to provide technical leadership within the XactRestore product team.

You will guide architectural decisions, lead hands-on development, and collaborate across product, UX, and QA to deliver reliable software for enterprise customers. You will improve CI/CD, testing, and release processes while applying AI-assisted development practices with proper verification, risk awareness, and clear boundaries.

Qualifications

Four-year bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of related experience.
Record of leading complex, hands-on engineering work within collaborative product teams, from discovery through delivery and operation.
Strong technical judgment and problem-solving skills, including evaluating design options, explaining tradeoffs, and managing technical risks.
Experience improving engineering practices and helping other engineers apply them effectively.
Practical judgment in using AI-assisted development tools, verifying their work, and recognizing when human intervention is required.
Experience using data to assess technical decisions and improvements, or demonstrated analytical judgment.
Clear communication, effective collaboration, and ability to work independently within agreed priorities.
Accountability for contributions and team's outcomes, surfacing risks and learning from failures.

Responsibilities

Contribute to product discovery and delivery with cross-functional teams.
Lead through technical design and hands-on development; ensure maintainability and security.
Drive technical execution by breaking work into increments and coordinating dependencies.
Strengthen engineering practices with testing, code review, and release validation.
Guide responsible use of AI in development with verification and boundaries.
Use evidence to guide improvements and track software quality and outcomes.
Lead engineering initiatives across Restore and coordinate debt improvements.
Support production reliability with on-call involvement and incident handling.
Develop other engineers through mentoring and technical guidance.
