Job summary

SMB IT, Inc. in Newark, DE seeks a Senior Engineer II to drive critical technical initiatives and shape system design. You will design, build, and maintain scalable services and lead cross-functional technical projects with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities include end-to-end feature ownership, architectural decisions, and code reviews to ensure quality and performance. Hybrid work is permitted up to 3 days weekly within reasonable commuting distance of Newark.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or related field.
• Minimum five years as a System Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go or TypeScript.
• Experience designing and deploying production systems at scale.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Drive critical technical initiatives and contribute to system design and implementation.
• Build, maintain scalable systems, services, or infrastructure components.
• Make architectural decisions with long-term impact.
• Own features and projects end-to-end and lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Conduct code reviews focusing on quality, performance, and maintainability.
