Job summary

LexisNexis Legal & Professional is seeking a senior software engineer to advance our Web Access Management platform. You will design and build Java/Spring/Micronaut microservices on AWS, contribute to the replatform from legacy Spring/Jetty toward cloud-native architectures.

You will collaborate with product managers, architects, and fellow engineers across Agile and hybrid models, implement secure RESTful APIs, and write comprehensive tests while applying SOLID principles.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
• Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE, with hands-on Spring Framework / Spring Boot and/or Micronaut.
• Experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs; familiarity with clean/hexagonal architecture and SOLID.
• Frontend development with JavaScript/TypeScript and Angular; HTML5, CSS3, JSP.
• Proficient with relational databases (Oracle and/or PostgreSQL); NoSQL (DynamoDB) a plus.
• Cloud experience (AWS) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Containerization (Docker) and web servers (Apache, NGINX); Linux/UNIX.
• OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, MFA, and identity federation familiarity.
• OWASP security principles and best practices; Git and repo practices.
• DevOps mindset with build tooling (Gradle and/or Maven) and npm; CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Test-driven development and code coverage (Jacoco, SonarQube).
• Messaging/event systems (SQS, Kinesis, EventBridge, Step Functions) a plus.
• Agile/Waterfall methodologies; ability to write/Review specifications; debug and fix bugs.

Responsibilities

• Interface with product managers, architects, and team members to finalize requirements for identity and access services.
• Write and review detailed specs and design documents for moderately complex components.
• Translate product requirements into scalable software designs with teammates.
• Design, implement, and unit-test backend services (Java/Spring/Micronaut) and frontend components (Angular/TypeScript).
• Contribute to replatforming legacy services to Micronaut microservices on AWS.
• Build and maintain secure RESTful APIs and integrations across OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, MFA.
• Apply secure-coding practices, code reviews (SonarQube), and Jacoco coverage.
• Author unit/integration/e2e tests (JUnit, Mockito, Cypress) and support CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Gradle).
• Operate in Agile/Waterfall environments and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Resolve production issues and complete bug fixes; stay current on IAM/cloud security trends.
