Job summary

Enova International is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Product SMB team in Chicago (hybrid schedule Tue–Thu in office, remote Mon/Wed). You’ll design and implement scalable software, mentor juniors, and collaborate with Product Management, Analytics, and Operations to drive business value.

The role requires 4+ years in Java/Python/Go with TypeScript/React for frontend, strong SQL, and experience with APIs and microservices. Knowledge of AI-enabled workflows is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience building and deploying software using Java, Python, or Go, with TypeScript and React for frontend development.
• Strong SQL and database fundamentals: schema design, indexes, migrations, and query optimization.
• Experience with API integrations and microservices or event-driven architectures.
• Interest in full-stack development with both frontend and backend capabilities.
• Strong coding, debugging, and troubleshooting skills for scalable solutions.
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using AI tools to enhance software development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement technical solutions to business problems on the Product SMB team.
• Collaborate with engineers, Product Management, Analytics, and Operations to deliver value.
• Mentor junior developers and guide architecture and code quality.
• Tackle microservices design, production debugging, and risk mitigation.
