Job summary

BCT LLC is seeking a Software Engineer, Level 3, with an active TS/SCI w/FS Poly. The role is located at the National Business Park and involves testing software and hardware in large data systems, with emphasis on Linux-based environments and REST APIs.

The engineer will design testing scripts, analyze data with Splunk, and work in an Agile SAFe environment, collaborating across teams to verify system requirements and document defects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 14+ years of experience stated in the posting.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or C++.
• Comfort with Linux/Unix CLI and scripting.
• Ability to develop test cases from system requirements.
• Experience with database querying and data analysis; Splunk preferred.
• Experience with REST APIs and their practical use.
• Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies.
• Experience with defect tracking and version control pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement testing scripts and strategies, including automated test execution and data analysis.
• Review HPC system documentation and develop code to test and verify requirements.
• Collaborate to develop and execute test plans for HPC systems.
• Independently test and validate HPC systems per test plans to ensure requirements are met.
• Participate in SAFe activities, including planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
• Use Linux CLI and scripting (Python, Bash) to troubleshoot, run tests, and automate testing.
• Develop complex database queries and analyze test data across database platforms like Splunk.
• Track, document, and report defects using JIRA, Confluence or similar tools.
• Contribute to integration and testing of REST APIs related to hardware systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and ensure verification standards.
