Job summary

Riverside Research is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop high-performance electromagnetic analysis tools. You will join a diverse team in a state-of-the-art defense computing environment, improving software practices, and mentoring junior developers.

The role requires collaboration with physicists and engineers, strong CEM knowledge, and experience across Linux/Windows, MPI/OpenMP, and SDLC processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering or closely related field with software development experience.
• 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; 6+ with a Master's; 3+ with a PhD.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (waterfall, agile).
• Proven proficiency in Python, C, C++, Fortran.
• Experience with Linux and Windows environments; MPI/OpenMP for HPC.

Responsibilities

• Assist with requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and debugging of high-performance CEM software.
• Drive software quality via design reviews, peer reviews, automated testing and CI.
• Architect and implement scalable features and modernize legacy code.
• Contribute to software development best practices and training materials.
• Collaborate with physicists and engineers to translate models into code.
• Mentor junior developers and promote scientific rigor and engineering excellence.
• Stay current with computational tools and data modeling.
