Riverside Research’s Applied Mathematics and Physics Solutions group seeks a Senior Computational Scientist/Scientific Programmer to advance computational electromagnetics, scientific computing, and physics-based modeling for challenging government and defense applications.

This role combines strong technical leadership with independent problem solving, directing research and development, mentoring staff, engaging customers, and shaping technical direction while delivering reliable, high‑quality

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI poly
• Degree in physics, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, computer science
• 8+ years with a Bachelor's, 6+ years with a Master's, or 3+ years with a PhD in relevant field
• Experience with physics-based computational models or scientific simulation software
• Strong foundation in applied mathematics, numerical analysis, or computational physics
• Proficiency in C, C++, or Fortran

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction in computational electromagnetics, applied mathematics, computational physics, and modeling
• Research, develop, implement, evaluate, and improve numerical methods and physics-based models
• Serve as PI or technical lead for research, development, and customer-funded efforts
• Engage with government/defense customers to understand mission needs and opportunities
• Contribute to technical volumes, cost/schedule estimates, and government proposals
• Contribute to scientific software development and verification/validation
• Coordinate work across scientists, software engineers, and program managers
• Prepare technical reports and briefings for varied audiences
• Mentor junior staff and promote engineering rigor
• Perform other duties as assigned
