Job summary

CVS Health in Iowa City is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and implement digital solutions and systems, focusing on optimizing Payer Operations and automating Payer contracts within a data-driven healthcare environment.

You will architect end-to-end integration patterns, improve performance, collaborate with product teams, and explore AI/ML tools to drive intelligent automation, with a strong emphasis on reliability, governance, and scalable architecture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with SQL and relational database systems.
• Dimensional data modeling, schema design and data warehousing experience.
• Programming in SQL, Python and similar languages for cloud/on-prem warehousing.
• Troubleshooting data issues and applying performance improvements.
• Willingness to improve processes and own work in a fast-paced team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect & Build: design end-to-end integration bridging cloud-native SaaS, Epic EMR, and data platforms.
• Quality & Resilience: conduct testing, debugging, and code reviews for reliability.
• Stakeholder Leadership: advise product/business teams; refine requirements and patterns.
• Innovation & AI: explore tools/frameworks to drive AI/ML-driven automation.
• Documentation & Governance: create architecture diagrams and best practices.
