Job Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be integral to designing and developing Guidewire software applications and related components, independently and collaboratively. You will join our Guidewire Configuration Team, applying your expertise to gather, document, and articulate business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support Guidewire software applications and integrations.
• Gather, document, understand, and articulate functional, non-functional, and business requirements.
• Design and develop Guidewire applications both independently and as part of a team.
• Perform testing to ensure high quality, including unit, regression, and integration testing.
• Monitor production systems for issues and prevent problems across environments.
• Research and troubleshoot issues to resolve system problems promptly.
• Understand Alfa’s interconnected technology framework to assess the impact of software changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or 10 years of software development experience.
• Minimum of 3 years experience coding in Guidewire, or 2 years plus GW Certified Professional certification.
• Experience in Java, GOSU, XML, SQL Server, Insurance Vertical, and modern code repositories (e.g., BitBucket, GitHub).
• Claims Center experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of SDLC components and strong communication skills.

This position supports remote work in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Travel to Montgomery headquarters may be required for meetings or training.
