Job summary

Vanta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Government team to shape the foundation of our public sector expansion. You will design architectures for government compliance platforms, enabling federal agencies, vendors, and SLED organizations to automate frameworks like FedRAMP and NIST.

You will lead cross-team initiatives, build new capabilities, and drive engineering excellence in a fast-growing environment with opportunities to impact security posture and trust at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
• Strong systems thinking and platform architecture skills for reusable, scalable designs.
• Experience or familiarity with regulated sectors (e.g., fintech, healthcare) is a plus.
• Demonstrates a product mindset, prioritizes shipping, meets deadlines while ensuring technical quality.
• Willing to leverage AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects across multiple stakeholders and engineers for government product line.
• Design and build new capabilities—core compliance workflows not yet in the product.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams on shared infrastructure for government workflows.
• Translate early-stage requirements into durable, scalable solutions.
• Contribute to building Vanta's engineering culture as the company scales.
