Job summary

Concept Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Node.js Enhancement Lead to spearhead enhancements for mission-critical DoW applications. You will blend hands-on Node.js development with technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and delivering new capabilities across modern enterprise systems.

The role requires 7+ years in backend development, strong PostgreSQL and REST API design, and experience guiding small teams through design, reviews, and releases in an Agile environment.

This position offers an opportunity to combine hands-on Node.js development with technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and delivering new capabilities across modern enterprise applications.

• Lead a small engineering team delivering new capabilities to production Node.js and React/TypeScript applications, from design through release.
• Own technical design, code review standards, and release readiness for the team's backlog, partnering with Government product owners to shape and prioritize work.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience, including 4+ years building production services using Node.js (JavaScript and TypeScript).
• Strong SQL experience, particularly PostgreSQL, and REST API design.
• Demonstrated experience leading a small engineering team through technical design, code reviews, and software releases in an Agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing applications using React and TypeScript.
• Experience with form-heavy or data-collection applications.
• Experience with containerized deployments using Amazon ECS or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with AWS GovCloud.
• Experience delivering software in federal or other regulated environments with formal change control processes.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Work Location and Schedule

• Location: Remote
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern. The team operates in two-week sprints, including a customer demonstration each sprint.
• Travel: 0–10%, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
• Security Requirement: U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance. An active Secret clearance or higher is strongly preferred and may allow an earlier start.
• Compensation: $170,000–$180,000 base salary, depending on experience.
