Job summary

Apple, Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join Retail & Marcom Engineering. You will build scalable web services powering the Apple Online Store across web and mobile platforms, focusing on payment systems, security, and reliability.

The role requires experience with Java, cloud-native architectures, and distributed systems. You will collaborate across product, design, content, QA and other teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/Engineering or related field or equivalent
• 5+ years of software development experience
• 3+ years building high-scale, high-performance cloud-based distributed systems with API work (REST/RPC/GraphQL)
• 3+ years with SQL/NoSQL databases and schema design
• Proficiency in Java and concurrency/memory optimization
• Strong OOP, data structures, algorithms and design patterns

Responsibilities

• Leading and delivering world-class engineering products in a fast-paced environment.
• Building high-throughput, high-performance payment services for Apple's online store.
• Architecting integration of Apple Online Store with ApplePay, AppleCard, Wallet and international vendors.
• Designing secure, next-generation e-commerce payment instruments.
• Building server web applications, RESTful services, frameworks, tools and security infrastructure.
• Handling production data per privacy policy.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to extend beyond the Online Store.
