Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead architecture and development for a GEOINT-focused application on the Chinook Program. You will stay hands-on while guiding technical direction, mentoring engineers, and partnering with stakeholders across DevSecOps, security, and systems engineering.

You’ll drive backend services, API design, and data models, and support production releases in a fast-paced Agile environment with Scrum Master responsibilities and strong emphasis on mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Eng or related field; 8–12 years experience, or Master’s with 6–10 years.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs, services, and distributed applications.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, and cloud environments.
• Strong problem solving, debugging, and leadership abilities, including Scrum Master responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of a software application for GEOINT mission.
• Translate mission and technical requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Lead technical design for components, services, APIs, and integrations.
• Develop and maintain high‑quality production software.
• Design and optimize backend services and modern web applications.
• Evaluate architectures and recommend mission‑based solutions.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and data services.
• Troubleshoot complex production and integration issues.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and develop testing strategies.
• Support CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud, and containerized environments.
• Identify technical debt and security concerns; improve reliability and scalability.
• Serve as Scrum Master for Agile team and manage sprint priorities.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with stakeholders.
