Job summary

The New York Times is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the DevEx Platforms team in New York. This role focuses on creating GenAI-augmented developer experiences and contributing to NYT's internal developer platform used by 450+ engineers across product engineering.

You will work in a hybrid remote/in-office setup, collaborating with product managers and AI communities to ship tooling for engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and building cloud-native applications using Golang.

Responsibilities

• Explore and build tools to support product engineers with GenAI-augmented experiences.
• Contribute to the internal development platform.
• Demonstrate support for journalistic independence and NYT mission.
• Report to the Engineering Manager of the DevEx Platforms team.
