Job summary

Walmart Global Tech, Hoboken, NJ, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the delivery of distributed services within Fulfillment Tech. You will design, implement, and own complex features end-to-end in a cloud-native environment, guiding architecture and quality across the stack.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers, and raise engineering standards while focusing on reliability, scalability, and impact across Walmart’s U.S. eCommerce fulfillment network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or related field with 3 years’ software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent depth.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable microservices and event-driven systems (Java-based)
• Own end-to-end delivery for complex features: design, implementation, testing, rollout, and long-term operability
• Set a high bar for operational excellence: telemetry, alerting, incident response, root cause analysis, and prevention
• Drive technical direction in your area: architecture decisions, reliability improvements, performance tuning, and tech-debt reduction
• Produce high-quality code and raising team quality via PR reviews, design reviews, and engineering best practices
• Collaborate deeply with product and business stakeholders to break down ambiguity into executable plans and milestones
